Quilts With the Kids

Rotaplast posts pictures of the surgical teams and the kids they are helping. When the stars are aligned just right, we get to see the kids with our quilts. Recently I found several pictures, which I shall post here. Some of these are in Philippines. I didn't catch other locations, because I was excited just to see the quilts showing up. Here you go... anyone recognize a quilt you made?? a little bit of a quilt pokes out the bottom end of the bed during surgery here's an interesting perspective on surgery and a quilt

Lenten Blocks

Some of us decided to make a block a day during Lent. Lent began on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13 and will end on Easter Sunday, March 31. That's going to be a lot of blocks for lovely Sunshine quilts! Here are some early examples:

Super Bowl Sunshine Sewing

We made the entire Super Bowl weekend into a sewing marathon. Quilts we made were designated for WAS, which fell slightly short of numbers needed in 2012. We had a lot of fun sharing comments and photos while we worked. We got an amazing number of quilts made, and another amazing number of people volunteered to quilt them. Prizes were handed out, and all in all it was a very successful and fun weekend. Here are some the beautiful quilts we created over Super Bowl weekend.

Join Us!

Greetings! We are an online quilt guild with members from all over the world. We do several projects, including block lotto, challenges, and special drives to encourage participation. We currently support two projects. 1) Wrap a Smile - gives quilts to kids undergoing cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. Surgeries are performed free by volunteer medical teams who travel with the Rotaplast program (through Rotary clubs). Quilts also sometimes go to children through Smile Train. Kids keep their quilts after surgery. To read more about Wrap a Smile, follow this link: Wrap-a-Smile

Most quilts are hand-delivered by various travelers. To read more about Wrap Them in Love, follow this link: Wrap Them in Love Interested in joining us? All quilting levels are welcome.
